Connect an AI assistant

You can let Mistral's Le Chat, ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant work with your iwantanew.cv account — reading your CVs, cover letters and saved applications, and creating new ones for you. Sign in once from the assistant and it acts as you, nothing more. We list Mistral first: it is a European provider, so your prompts stay in Europe.

Step 2 — set it up in your assistant

Mistral — Le Chat

European · recommended

Mistral is a French AI company, so your prompts stay with a European provider. Le Chat supports custom MCP connectors on Pro and Team plans.

  1. 1Open Le Chat and sign in.
  2. 2Go to Settings → Connectors (or the connector icon in the chat box) and choose Add connector → Custom MCP connector.
  3. 3Name it iwantanew.cv, choose the HTTP / streamable transport and paste the connection address from step 1.
  4. 4Save, then complete the sign-in prompt so Le Chat is authorised to act as you.
  5. 5Turn the connector on in the chat box and ask Le Chat to use iwantanew.cv.

Custom connectors are not available on the free Le Chat plan. If you do not see the option, upgrade the Le Chat plan or use Mistral's MCP docs with a local client.

ChatGPT

  1. 1Open ChatGPT connector settings and turn on Developer mode. Read the risk notice ChatGPT shows there. If the option is missing, ask your ChatGPT admin to enable it.
  2. 2Open the new plugin dialog.
  3. 3Enter iwantanew.cv as the name and paste the connection address from step 1 as the URL.
  4. 4Check “I understand and want to continue” — ChatGPT shows this warning for every custom connection — then click Create.
  5. 5Turn the app on from the chat composer, then ask ChatGPT to use iwantanew.cv.

Claude

  1. 1Open the pre-filled Claude connector dialog.
  2. 2Check the name and address, then click Add.
  3. 3If the dialog does not open pre-filled, go to Claude's Connectors page, choose “Add custom connector”, name it iwantanew.cv and paste the connection address.
  4. 4Enable the connector from the chat composer, then ask Claude to use iwantanew.cv.

Claude Code

One command sets it up — nothing else to edit.

Step 3 — refresh after we ship updates

Assistants remember what iwantanew.cv could do when you connected. When we add something new, refresh the connection.

ChatGPT

  1. 1Open ChatGPT's Plugins page and select iwantanew.cv.
  2. 2Scroll to “Information” and click Refresh.
  3. 3ChatGPT cannot change an existing address — if it changed, delete the app and set it up again with the latest one.

Troubleshooting

Common errors and exactly what to do about them, for Mistral's Le Chat, ChatGPT, Claude and Claude Code.

All assistantsThe assistant says it can't find or reach the connection
  1. 1Open the status page and run a re-check — if the iwantanew.cv connection address is not responding there, the problem is on our side, so try again in a few minutes.
  2. 2Compare the address saved in your assistant with this one, character for character: https://iwantanewcv.lovable.app/mcp
  3. 3Make sure the address ends in /mcp and has no trailing slash or extra spaces.
  4. 4If the address is wrong, remove the connection and set it up again — most assistants cannot edit the address of an existing connection.
All assistantsIt asks me to sign in over and over, or sign-in never completes
  1. 1Sign in to iwantanew.cv in your normal browser first, then start the connection again — the sign-in window uses that browser session.
  2. 2Allow pop-ups for the assistant, and finish the approval screen in the window it opens instead of a new tab.
  3. 3Turn off strict tracking protection or a VPN for that one sign-in, then turn it back on.
  4. 4If you have several accounts, check you approved with the same email you use for your CVs.
  5. 5Still stuck? Remove the connection, then add it again — this clears a half-finished sign-in.
All assistantsIt says I'm not authorised, or that it can't see my CVs
  1. 1Open the status page and check whether that assistant shows a recent successful connection.
  2. 2If no assistant is listed, the sign-in never completed — remove the connection and add it again.
  3. 3Confirm you actually have CVs or letters saved in iwantanew.cv; a brand-new account has nothing to read yet.
  4. 4Approve the connection again if you or someone else removed access from the assistant's settings.
Mistral — Le ChatLe Chat has no “Custom MCP connector” option
  1. 1Custom connectors need a paid Le Chat plan (Pro or Team) — check your plan under Settings → Subscription.
  2. 2Look in both places: Settings → Connectors, and the connector icon inside the chat box.
  3. 3Team plans may restrict connectors — ask your Le Chat workspace admin to allow custom MCP connectors.
  4. 4As an alternative, use any local MCP client with the same connection address.
Mistral — Le ChatLe Chat added the connector but never uses it
  1. 1Switch the connector on in the chat box for the conversation you're in — adding it in settings is not enough.
  2. 2Start a fresh conversation and ask plainly: use iwantanew.cv to list my CVs.
  3. 3Choose the streamable HTTP transport when adding it; SSE-only entries can connect but expose nothing.
  4. 4If it stays silent, remove the connector and add it again with the address from step 1.
ChatGPTThe Developer mode or custom connector option is missing
  1. 1Open ChatGPT settings and look under Connectors for Developer mode.
  2. 2If it isn't there, your plan or workspace does not allow custom connections — ask your ChatGPT workspace admin to enable it.
  3. 3Personal accounts may need to switch out of a shared workspace first, using the workspace picker.
ChatGPTChatGPT created the app but never uses it
  1. 1Turn the app on from the composer in the chat, not just in settings.
  2. 2Start a new chat, then say plainly: use iwantanew.cv to list my CVs.
  3. 3If it still ignores it, delete the app and create it again with the address from step 1.
