Writing a CV for Italy (Curriculum Vitae)
Italian CVs are formal and reasonably detailed. Two pages is normal, qualifications and titles carry weight, and most employers expect an explicit data-processing consent line at the end.
The norms

- Two pages.

- Common, particularly outside tech.
- Personal details
- Name, email, phone, city. Date of birth still frequently included.
- Dates
- MM/YYYY.
- GDPR line
- A short authorisation to process personal data (GDPR 2016/679) at the end.
- Format
- Europass is accepted and often requested by public bodies.
What gets CVs rejected
- Leaving out the data-processing consent line — some HR systems reject the CV.
- Sending Europass to design, tech or startup employers, where it reads as generic.
- Understating qualifications; Italian employers read titles and institutions closely.
- English-only applications to domestic SMEs.
